Claire Bessant

Claire Bessant has been Chief Executive of the Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB) since August 1994 but her association with the charity began three years earlier when she became editor of the FAB Journal.

Claire’s scientific background – she has an BSc in Animal Physiology and Nutrition – and her skills as an author and editor combine to give her a unique set of skills which have proved ideally suited to FAB.  Under her guidance the charity has grown and developed into the UK’s leading advisory charity on the health and welfare of cats.  FAB provides cat owners and breeders with well-founded scientific information presented in accessible language.  Alongside this FAB provides information for practitioners and Claire has actively promoted FAB’s provision of a prestigious programme of cpd for veterinary surgeons.

Claire has written 10 books on all aspects of cats and their behaviour, which have won her fans around the world, and she regularly contributes to a number of magazines.
