European Society of Feline Medicine

For many years, there has been a growing interest and enthusiasm for feline medicine within the veterinary profession. Many of the unique challenges of working with cats are now well understood, as is the need to treat them as a separate species in their own right!

In recognition of this, the European Society of Feline Medicine was established by fab in 1996 as an organisation to provide a focus for veterinarians with a special interest in feline medicine throughout Europe.

ESFM produces an internationally peer-reviewed journal and runs the largest feline medicine congress in Europe, as well as other feline medicine study days.

Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery

ESFM takes an active role in the promotion of feline medicine by keeping its members informed of the latest developments in this field through the publication of the bi-monthly Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery.

The JFMS is an internationally peer-reviewed journal published in association with Elsevier Science. It contains quality original papers and reviews, including basic research, short communications, letters, plus international news of relevant advances and issues from other publications and meetings.

ESFM runs several highly successful feline conferences for veterinary surgeons each year. The conferences are designed to be GP-orientated, offering plenty of practical tips as well as giving you something new to think about.
