KERRY SIMPSON has been appointed FAB Lecturer at Edinburgh University, from where she graduated in 1998. After two years working in small animal practice in Lincolnshire, she returned to the university to study for a PhD, studying the effects of various feline geriatric diseases on the heart. She first developed an interest in feline medicine as an undergraduate student and was able to work in predominantly feline practice after graduation. Kerry acquired Whisky, a rescue cat, when she was a veterinary student. Whisky was then a weak and timid four week old kitten, but is now nine years old and full of character.
