Fabcats is the website of the Feline Advisory Bureau, a charity dedicated to promoting the health and welfare of cats through improved feline knowledge, to help us all care better for our cats.

Back in 1958 when the Feline Advisory Bureau (fab) was founded by Joan Judd, little was really known about them or their veterinary needs. fab gathered information from a variety of sources and funded vets to specialise in feline care and so had a major influence on early advances in veterinary treatment.

That work, and influence, continues to this day, not only in the treatment of disease but in establishing standards for boarding catteries and providing information, both specific and general, to cat lovers everywhere.

what we do...
fab funds lecturers and residents to specialise in feline medicine at universities in Bristol and Edinburgh.
fab offers training schemes for those planning to open their own boarding cattery and will advise on all aspects of building and running a cattery.
Information on virtually every aspect of cat care is available – from bringing home a new kitten to dealing with destructive behaviour or life-threatening illness.
fab organises regular conferences, open days and meetings throughout the UK. These cover a wide range of subjects from breed-specific diseases to the Pet Travel Scheme. Most of these are open to cat-loving members of the public with reduced rates available for fab members.
fab members receive a quarterly journal giving details of the latest feline information and medical treatments. Membership subscriptions cover the costs of administration and the production of the Journal, but in order to produce educational literature and fund valuable posts and projects, we need your financial help through fundraising, donations and legacies.
