This year, three products have been awarded Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB) Easy to Give Awards. The awards were presented at Kensington Roof Gardens, London, at the gathering of FAB trustees, advisers, supporters and other feline charities and welfare organisations on July 1 to celebrate the launch of the FAB’s veterinary wing, the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM).
‘The Easy to Give Awards recognise the commitment made by pharmaceutical companies in making dosing medicines easier,’ says FAB Chief Executive Claire Bessant. ‘Medicines that are easier to administer make life less stressful for vets, owners and feline patients alike.’
The FAB Easy to Give logo can be displayed on advertising for the winning products.
Each award is the considered decision of the FAB feline expert panel, a group of veterinary surgeons who are, or have been, funded at vet schools to specialise in feline medicine by the FAB.
In total, since 2005, 21 products have received FAB Easy to Give Awards.

The recipients of the FAB Easy to Give Awards 2010 are:
Effipro (Virbac) a spot-on flea and tick treatment, supplied in a new style of pipette which enables the owner to open the pipette prior to application without the contents spilling.
Onsior (Novartis) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug for the relief of pain and inflammation in cats. The tablets are small and flavoured to be accepted easily by the majority of cats suffering from pain and inflammation due to musculoskeletal disorders.
Fortekor (Novartis) is the only ACE inhibitor specifically licensed for the management of chronic renal insufficiency in cats. The tablets are flavoured to encourage cats to take the medication they need.
